WHEREAS, on March 14, 1988, bids were received for the
recycling and repaving element of the 1988 Street Maintenance &
Rehabilitation Program; and,
WHEREAS, Cutler Repaving, Inc. submitted a bid in the
amount of $216,400.00 based on an estimated 80,000 square yards
of asphalt to be recycled and repaved; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bid submitted by Cutler Repaving, Inc. is the lowest and best bid
and should be accepted; and,
WHEREAS, the estimated amount of asphalt pavement to be
recycled and repaved was 80,000 square yards but the actual
square yards to be recycled and repaved is 74,530;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Cutler Repaving, Inc. in the amount of
$216,400.00 , based on an estimated 80,000 square yards of asphalt
to be recycled and repaved, be accepted by the City of Beaumont
for recycling and repaving element of the 1988 Street Maintenance
& Rehabilitation Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he
is hereby, authorized to execute Change Order Number 1 to the
contract between the City of Beaumont and Cutler Repaving, Inc.
in the amount of $14,100.00 thereby decreasing the amount of the
contract to $202,300.00.
