R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, on March 28, 1988, bids were received for the
purchase of herbicides for use by the Public Works, Parks and
Operations Divisions to retard or eliminate growth of unwanted
plant life; and,
WHEREAS, Terra International of Pearsall, Texas
submitted a bid for 200 gallons of isopropylamine salt of
glyphosate at $55 .20 per gallon and Terra International, Inc. of
Wharton, Texas submitted a bid for 1 , 400 gallons of monosodium
acid methaneorsonate at $9 . 91 per gallon for a total amount of
$24, 914. 00 ; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bids submitted by Terra International and Terra International,
Inc. are the lowest and best bids and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids submitted by Terra International for 200 gallons of
isopropylamine salt of glyphosate and Terra International, Inc.
for 1 ,400 gallons of monosodium acid methaneorsonate in the
amounts stated above be accepted by the City of Beaumont for the
purchase of herbicides for use by the Public Works, Parks and
Operations Divisions to retard or eliminate growth of unwanted
plant life.
