WHEREAS, in 1986 the City of Beaumont entered into a
maintenance agreement with the State of Texas for an area
generally bounded by U. S. 90 Business and North Street; and
WHEREAS, such area was temporarily designated "Welcome
to Beaumont Park" until such time as a more appropriate name
could be chosen; and
WHEREAS, the City has proposed a new name to the State
Department of Highways and Public Transportation and the State
has agreed to a name change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the tract of land which is subject to a maintenance
agreement between the City of Beaumont and the State of Texas
generally bounded by U. S. 90 Business and North Street,
heretofore known as "Welcome to Beaumont Park," shall hereafter
be known as "Delia Harrington' s Welcome to Beaumont Park" in
honor of Delia Harrington.
