WHEREAS, on December 15, 1986, bids were received for an
annual contract for the purchase of asphaltic concrete; and,
WHEREAS, Keown Supply Co. submitted a bid in the amount
of $27 per ton for hot-mix and $24.75 per ton for cold-laid
asphalt, or approximately $183 ,375; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid
submitted by Keown Supply Co. is the best bid because of its
proximity to the Street Division Headquarters and should be
accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Keown Supply Co. be accepted by the City of
Beaumont and the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
enter into a one (1) year contract with Keown Supply Co. in the
amounts stated above for the purchase of asphaltic concrete.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
