WHEREAS the City of Beaumont has approved a policy for
tax abatement for manufacturing concerns; and,
WHEREAS, said tax abatement policy provides that the city
shall establish an advisory committee composed of one (1) member
from each affected taxing jurisdiction. Such advisory committee
to review applictions for tax abatement, .recommend contract terms
and adoption or rejection of all such applications to the City
Council and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to create an advisory
committee in accordance with the Tax Abatement Policy of the City
of Beaumont;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT there is hereby established a Tax Abatement Advisory Committee
to be composed of a representative of the City of Beaumont,
Jefferson County, the Port of Beaumont, the Beaumont Navigation
District, Drainage District 6 and the Beaumont Independent School
District. The committee will be charged with the responsibility of
reviewing applications for tax abatement, recommending contract
terms and recommending the adoption or rejection of applications
for tax abatement.
