WHEREAS, on October 20, 1986, bids were received for
container pickup service for all departments for the disposal of
solid waste; and,
WHEREAS, R.E. M. Waste Control of Nederland, Texas
submitted a bid for 11 locations and Browning-Ferris, Inc . of
Beaumont, Texas submitted a bid for 3 locations, respectively, as
follows:
R.E.M . Waste Control
Amounts
Building Maintenance - 2 locations
Civic Center - 1 location
Fire Department - 3 locations
Health Department - 1 location
Parks - Tennis Center - 2 locations
and Best Years
Center
Police Department - 1 location
Water Department - 1 location $ 11,370.00
Browning-Ferris, Inc .
Parks - Athletic - 2 locations
Complex and Boat
Ramp
Fleet Department - 1 location $ 5, 198.88
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids
submitted by R.E .M. Waste Control and Browning-Ferris, Inc . are the
best bids and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids submitted by R.E .M. Waste Control and
Browning-Ferris, Inc . as stated above for container pickup service
for all departments for the disposal of solid waste be accepted by
the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
the day of 1986.
