WHEREAS, on August 25, 1986, bids were received for a 36-
month lease purchase of a high speed automatic duplexing copier to
be installed on the 3rd floor of City Hall; and,
WHEREAS, IBM of Beaumont, Texas, submitted a bid in the
amount of $748 per month as the rental for the unit plus a
maintenance charge of $533 per month based upon an estimated 60,000
copies per month plus a charge of $ .0124 per copy for all copies in
excess of 60, 000 copies per month; and,
WHEREAS, on September 23, 1986, the City Council passed a
resolution awarding the bid to IBM; and,
WHEREAS, said resolution did not include information
concerning the maintenance and copy costs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of IBM in the amount of $26,929 for a 36-month
lease/purchase of a high speed automatic duplexing copier along
with a maintenance charge which, based on 60,000 copies per month,
would be $ 533 and a copy cost for all copies in excess of 60,000 of
$ .0124 be, and the same is hereby, accepted by the City of
Beaumont.
