R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Mr. Leroy Fontenot, Home Savings of America and
GMAC Mortgage Corporation have applied to the County for refunds of
overpayment of 1983 and 1985 city taxes in the amounts of Five
Hundred Sixty-Two Dollars ( $562.00) , One Thousand Seven Hundred
Fifty-Two Dollars and Forty-Six Cents ($1 , 752.46) , and Eleven
Thousand Two Hundred Forty-Nine Dollars and Sixty-Eight Cents
($11, 249.68) , respectively; and,
WHEREAS, the County Tax Assessor/Collector has notified
the city of the error and has requested a refund of the above
amounts; and,
WHEREAS, State law requires the approval of the City
Council for all tax refunds in excess of Five Hundred Dollars
($500) ,-
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the refund of Five Hundred Sixty-Two Dollars ($562.00) , One
Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty-Two Dollars and Forty-Six Cents
($1,752.46) , and Eleven Thousand Two Hundred Forty-Nine Dollars and
Sixty-Eight Cents ($11,249.68) to Mr. Leroy Fontenot, Home Savings
of America, and GMAC Mortgage Corporation, respectively, for the
overpayment of 1983 and 1985 city taxes be approved.
