WHEREAS, right-of-way purchased for Spur 380, Phases I
and II, was purchased in the name of the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, in Phase III, the right-of-way will be purchased
in the name of the City of Beaumont and a portion of the property
acquired will be granted as an easement to Kansas City Southern
Railroad for railroad relocation; and,
WHEREAS, after the easements are granted, the City will
deed the property to the State subject to the easement and request
reimbursement; and,
WHEREAS, this process is necessary so as not to delay the
timely completion of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the purchase of the following parcels of land are hereby
approved:
Parcel 96: 8,986 square feet out of Lots 17
and 18, Block 1 , Gentz Addition
Owners: George F. and Patricia H. Weir
Approved Value: $25,500
Parcel 118: 10,437 square feet out of the
David Brown League
Owner: J . W . Graham
Approved Value: $42, 565
Parcel 139: 7 ,000 square feet out of Lot 16,
Block 10, Ogden Addition
Owner: Curtis W. Doucet, Sr.
Approved Value: $28,000
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he
is hereby , authorized to execute easements and deeds on Parcels 118
and 139, as necessary , to accomplish the purposes set out herein.
