WHEREAS, right-of-way purchased for Spur 380, Phases I
and II, was purchased in the name of the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, in Phase III, the right-of-way will be purchased
in the name of the City of Beaumont and a portion of the property
acquired will be granted as an easement to Kansas City Southern
Railroad for railroad relocation; and,
WHEREAS, after the easements are granted, the City will
deed the property to the State subject to the easement and request
reimbursement; and,
WHEREAS, this process is necessary so as not to delay the
timely completion of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the purchase of the following parcel of land is hereby
approved:
Parcel 75A: 31, 729 square feet out of Block 5
of the Gentz Addition, and all of
Lots 1 , 2 , 3 and 4 of the O' Brien
and Bordages Addition
Owner: Joe E. O'Fiel
Approved Value: $104, 326.00
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he
is hereby, authorized to execute an easement and deed on Parcel
75A, as necessary , to accomplish the purposes set out herein.
