WHEREAS, the city has studied its computer needs and has
developed a five (5 ) year data processing plan which best meets the
needs of the city; and,
WHEREAS, the plan incorporates a distributive data
processing approach; and,
WHEREAS, requests for proposals for computer hardware and
software were received on May 19, 1986; and,
WHEREAS, with the assistance of the consulting firm of
LWFW, the following vendors are recommended for the city' s data
processing systems :
IBM
Arthur Anderson and Company
Computer Systems and Applications
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager and staff be, and they are hereby, authorized
to negotiate with the above vendors for contracts for the purchase
of the city' s data processing system.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract with IBM for the
hardware/system software is not to exceed $468,000; the contract
with Arthur Anderson and Company is not to exceed $118,000; and the
contract with Computer Systems and Applications is not to exceed
$72,000.
