WHEREAS, right-of-way purchased for Spur 380, Phases I
and II, was purchased in the name of the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, in Phase III, the right-of-way will be purchased
in the name of the City of Beaumont and a portion of the property
acquired will be granted as an easement to Kansas City Southern
Railroad for railroad relocation; and,
WHEREAS, after the easements are granted, the City will
deed the property to the State subject to the easement and request
reimbursement; and,
WHEREAS, this process is necessary so as not to delay the
timely completion of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the purchase of the following parcels of land are hereby
approved:
Parcel 105: 8,460 square feet out of the David
Brown League
Owner: Elder C . Crawford
Appraised Value: $21,671
Parcel 116: 10, 555 square feet out of the David
Brown League
Owner: Irvin Thorton Blake
Approved Value: $27, 500
Parcel 117: 11, 757 square feet out of the David
Brown League
Owner: Irvin Thorton Blake
Appraised Value: $41,000
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he
is hereby, authorized to execute easements and deeds on Parcels 116
and 117, as necessary, to accomplish the purposes set out herein.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
