WHEREAS, the John Hammons Company has applied to the
County for refund of an overpayment of 1984 city taxes in the
amount of Twenty-Nine Thousand One Hundred Ninety-Seven Dollars and
Fifty-Nine Cents ( $29, 197 . 59) ; and,
WHEREAS, the County Tax Assessor/Collector has notified
the city of the error and has requested a refund of the above
amount; and,
WHEREAS, State law requires the approval of the City
Council for all tax refunds in excess of Five Hundred Dollars
($500) ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the refund of Twenty-Nine Thousand One Hundred Ninety-Seven
Dollars and Fifty-Nine Cents ( $29, 197 .59) to the John Hammons
Company for the overpayment of 1984 city taxes be approved.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
