R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont awarded the Longfellow
Street Interceptor Sanitary Sewer Contract to John Bankston
Construction & Equipment Rental, Inc . in September, 1984 in the
amount of $2 ,086,966; and,
WHEREAS, Change Orders 1 and 2 provided for open cutting
several street intersections in lieu of tunneling, and for
additional ditch cleaning and installation of 300 feet of 24" storm
sewer on Laurel Avenue 400 feet west of Eighteenth Street,
respectively; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No . 3 has been recommended
providing for adjustment of bid quantities to as-built quantities,
an increase in the contract time period because of delays beyond
the contractor' s control, and for final payment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
Change Order Number 3 to the Longfellow Street Interceptor Sanitary
Sewer Contract executed between the City of Beaumont and John
Bankston Construction & Equipment Rental, Inc. increasing the
amount of the contract to $2 , 180,442.50 and making final payment to
John Bankston Construction & Equipment Rental, Inc. in the amount
of $21,804.43 .
