HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 86-140 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, on October 9 , 1984, City Council awarded an engineering services contract to Mark Whiteley and Associates for the design of the St. Elizabeth/Gaylynn and IH-10/11th Street Drainage Projects from the Comprehensive Drainage Program (CDP) derived from a drainage study performed by Kohler & Kohler, Consulting Engineers, detailing needed construction in various areas of the city to relieve flooding; and, WHEREAS, during the preliminary phase of the engineering contract, Mark Whiteley found that the project described by Kohler & Kohler would benefit only limited areas; and, WHEREAS, Mark Whiteley suggested to the city that a modification in the design would increase the affected area with only a moderate increase in construction costs; and, WHEREAS, the design phase has been completed and bids taken with the low bid fifteen percent ( 15%) more than the original construction estimate; and, WHEREAS, Mark Whiteley has requested amending his contract to increase the design phase by $12, 440 making the total contract "not-to-exceed" amount $42, 519; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to amend the contract between Mark Whiteley and Associates and the City of Beaumont to increase the design phase to $16, 438. 60 .
