WHEREAS, on March 24, 1986, bids were received for four
(4) service trucks, two (2 ) dump trucks, and one ( 1 ) stakebody
truck for use by Water Distribution; and
WHEREAS, Knapp Chevrolet Company, Houston, Texas,
submitted a bid in the amount of $11, 499/each for four (4) service
trucks for a total of $45, 996, and $25,366 for one ( 1 ) stakebody
truck; and,
WHEREAS, Atterbury Truck Sales of Beaumont submitted a
bid in the amount of $31, 299.58/each for two ( 2) dump trucks for a
total of $62, 599.16 ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids
submitted by Knapp Chevrolet Company and Atterbury Truck Sales are
the lowest and best bids and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids submitted by Knapp Chevrolet Company in the amount of
$45, 996 for four (4) service trucks and $25, 366 for one ( 1 )
stakebody truck and by Atterbury Truck Sales in the amount of
$62, 599. 16 for two (2 ) dump trucks for use by Water Distribution be
accepted by the City of Beaumont.
