WHEREAS, Mr. Otis Gilkerson overpaid his 1985 taxes in
the amount of Seven Hundred Seventy Dollars and Sixty-Eight Cents
($770.68) ; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gilkerson has applied for a refund and the
County Tax Assessor-Collector has notified the City of the error
and has requested a refund of the above amount; and
WHEREAS, State law requires the approval of the City
Council for all refunds in excess of Five Hundred Dollars
($500.00) ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to refund to
Mr . Otis Gilkerson the amount of Seven Hundred Seventy Dollars and
Sixty-Eight Cents ($770.68) for overpayment of his 1985 taxes.
