WHEREAS, right-of-way purchased for Spur 380, Phases I
and II, was purchased in the name of the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, in Phase III, the right-of-way will be purchased
in the name of the City of Beaumont and a portion of the property
acquired will be granted as an easement to Kansas City Southern
Railroad for railroad relocation; and,
WHEREAS, after the easements are granted, the City will
deed the property to the State subject to the easement and request
reimbursement; and,
WHEREAS, this process is necessary so as not to delay the
timely completion of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the purchase of the following parcel of land is hereby
approved:
Parcel 68: 7,000 square feet of Lot 5, Block
28 of the Arlington Addition
Owner: Mary Shumaker
State' s Approved Value: $5, 250
Parcel 69: 6,020 square feet, part of Lot 6,
Block 28 of the Arlington Addition
Owner: Mary Shumaker
State' s Approved Value: $4, 515
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby
authorized to execute easements and deeds as necessary to
accomplish the purposes set out herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the purchase of the following
parcel of land for M. L. King, Jr . Pkwy/Spur 380 right-of-way
acquisition be, and the same is hereby, approved:
Parcel 60: 9,182 square feet, part of Lot 5,
Block 34 and Lot 1 , Block 29 of
the Arlington Addition
Owner: Charles P. Rouse
Appraised Value: $14,875
Parcel 67: 7,000 square feet, Lot 4, Block 28
of the Arlington Addition
Owners: Jessie Rena Fermon, Trustee
Appraised Value: $5, 250
Parcel 71 : 1 , 542 square feet out of Lot 3, Block
32 of the Arlington Addition
Owners: Melton and Helen Peters
Appraised Value: $21,691
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the purchase of the following
advertising sign, as described below, for M . L. King, Jr. Prwy/Spur
380 right-of-way acquisition be, and the same is hereby , approved:
Parcel 61: The advertising sign located on
part of Lot 26, Block 29 of the
Arlington Addition
Owner: Holland Advertising Company, Inc.
Appraised Value: $3, 242
Parcel 66: The advertising sign located on part
of Lot 2, Block 29 of the Arlington
Addition

Parcel 72: The advertising sign located on part
