WHEREAS, the budget of the City of Beaumont for the
fiscal period commencing October 1, 1985 provided for the
termination of the School Crossing Guard Program effective November
1 , 1985; and,
WHEREAS, the Council desires to provide funds to maintain
the School Crossing Guard Program in coordination with the Beaumont
Independent School District at a level of service equivalent to
that experienced in 1985; and,
WHEREAS, the Council desires to express its intent to
approve the transfer of funds into the Transportation Department
necessary to pay the city' s cost in this program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to present
to the Council a proposal showing the source of funds to transfer
into the Transportation Department to provide for the city' s cost
in a Crossing Guard Program.
