WHEREAS, on December 31, 1985, Mr. C . Darwin Kirksey
overpaid his taxes in the amount of Six Hundred Eighty-Seven
Dollars and Four Cents ($687.04) ; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Kirksey has applied for a refund and the
County Tax Assessor-Collector has notified the City of the error
and has requested a refund of the above amount; and,
WHEREAS, State law requires the approval of the City
Council for all refunds in excess of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to refund to
Mr . C . Darwin Kirksey Six Hundred Eighty-Seven Dollars and Four
Cents ( $687.04) for overpayment of his 1985 taxes.
