HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 86-014 - xw/ - rye R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, on November 18, 1985, bids were received for the last two sanitary sewer improvement projects, 17E-18C, funded by our 25/75 percent EPA grant; and, WHEREAS, the low bid for Project 17E was $2,959, 323 which is 45% over the engineer ' s estimate and the bid for Project 18C was $1 ,499,833 which is 46% over the estimate making the total overrun for both projects $1 , 288, 356; and, WHEREAS, the development of alternate engineering plans which would be acceptable to the Texas Water Development Board would also reduce the scope and cost of each project to the level of funding presently available; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT all bids submitted for both Sanitary Sewer Improvements Projects 17E-18C be rejected and that the consulting engineer, Schaumburg & Polk, Inc. , be authorized to proceed with developing revised plans and specifications for the two projects at a cost not to exceed $Forty-Two Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($42, 600) . ,/ PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the /"7 r day of 1986 Mayor -
