WHEREAS, on October 7 , 1985 bids were received for
container and pickup service for solid waste for a one (1 ) year
period for various locations within the city; and,
WHEREAS, R.E .M. Waste Control of Nederland, Texas submitted
the lowest and best bid in the amount of $9,960 for all locations
except the Civic Center and Fair Park Arena; and,
WHEREAS, Browning Ferris Industries submitted the lowest
and best bid in the amount of $3, 330 for the Civic Center and Fair
Park for a one (1 ) year period; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids
submitted by R.E.M. Waste Control and Browning Ferris Industries
should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids submitted by R.E.M. Waste Control and Browning Ferris
Industries for container and pickup service for solid waste for a one
(1 ) year period for various locations within the city be accepted by
the City of Beaumont.
