WHEREAS, the Hebert Cemetery on Hegele Street has been a
continuing environmental health problem for a long period of time;
and,
WHEREAS, the cemetery is greatly overgrown with brush and
trees and is near homes and a school; and,
WHEREAS, it has been cleaned several times by city
efforts but, because it is not a perpetual care cemetery, not
maintained;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the Hebert Cemetery be declared a public nuisance and that the
City Manager authorize a one-time clean up of this area by city
forces.
