WHEREAS, the City has contracted with First City National
Bank of Beaumont as a City depository bank for investment purposes;
and,
WHEREAS, First City National Bank of Beaumont wishes to
have the City pledge the following security with the Federal Reserve
Dallas - Houston Branch:

803892 U.S . Treasury Notes, 10.3750; $3,000,000.00
due 11/30/86; Cusip Number

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT First City National Bank of Beaumont be permitted to pledge the
above-described security and a certified copy of this resolution
shall constitute evidence of the authority of First City National
Bank of Beaumont to make said pledge.
