WHEREAS, on June 17 , 1985, bids were received for the
purchase of two ( 2) former city parks, Morgan and Spindletop Parks;
and,
WHEREAS, Ruben Sastre ( Lombardo' s Tree Service) submitted
a bid in the amount of $15,851 for purchase of the former Morgan
Park site; and,
WHEREAS, the bid on the former Spindletop Park site was
low and it is recommended that the bid be rejected and the bidding
procedure be reopened; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid
submitted by Ruben Sastre (Lombardo' s Tree Service) is the highest
and best bid and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Ruben Sastre ( Lombardo' s Tree Service) in
the amount of $15,851 for the purchase of the former city park site
of Morgan Park is hereby accepted by the City of Beaumont.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the bid on the former
Spindletop Park site be rejected and the bidding procedure be
reopened due to the low bid received.
