WHEREAS, right-of-way purchased for Spur 380, Phases I
and II was purchased in the name of the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, in Phase III, the right-of-way will be purchased
in the name of the City of Beaumont and a portion of the property
acquired will be granted as an easement to Kansas City Southern
Railroad for railroad relocation; and,
WHEREAS, after the easements are granted, the City will
deed the property to the State subject to the easement and request
reimbursement; and,
WHEREAS, this process is necessary so as not to delay the
timely completion of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the purchase of the following parcels of land is hereby
approved:
Parcel 229: 7 ,793 square feet out of Lots
1 and 2 , Block 9 , Ogden Addition
(whole taking)
Owner: Building & Lands, Inc.
State' s Approved Value: $12,858. 00
Parcel 232: 10,920 square feet out of Lots 1
and 2 , Block 19 , Blanchette Second
Addition (whole taking)
Owner: E. C . Wilkerson
State' s Approved Value: $22,950.00
Parcel 244: 7 ,346 square feet out of Lot 1 ,
Block 5 , Blanchette Second Addition
(whole taking)
Owner: Crenshaw Corporation
State' s Approved Value: $45,000.00
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he
is hereby , authorized to grant an easement to the Kansas City
Southern Railroad Company for relocation of their railroad
facilities and to execute a deed conveying the property to the
State subject to the easement.
