WHEREAS, on June 26, 1984 the City of Beaumont awarded
Contract 8E-Emergency Generators and Transfer Switches, to Stewart &
Stevenson Services, Inc. for the furnishing of two ( 2 ) standby
generators in the amount of $93,113; and,
WHEREAS, power cords and receptacles for connecting the
generators to the city' s 37 lift stations were inadvertently left out
of the original specifications; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 has been recommended providing
for the furnishing of four (4 ) power cords, two for each generator,
fourteen ( 14) receptacles for lift stations not equipped, and the
necessary safety equipment to provide 440V-220V three phase and
220V-110V single phase power; it also provides for the deletion of
fifteen (15) transfer switches as originally specified;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Stewart & Stevenson Services,
Inc. for Contract 8E, furnishing of two (2) standby generators
bringing the total contract amount to $109,634 .
