WHEREAS, on March 4 , 1985, bids were received for the
demolition of a structure located at 1409 Liberty; and,
WHEREAS, April 23, 1985 the contract was awarded to Davis
Enterprises in the amount of $2 ,213.70 ; and,
WHEREAS, Davis Enterprises has been unable to fulfill its
obligations under the contract due to lack of adequate insurance;
and,
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that the contract be
awarded to La' Fayette Spivey, Jr. who submitted the second best
and/or lowest bid in the amount of $2 ,300;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by La' Fayette Spivey, Jr. for demolition of
a dangerous structure located at 1409 Liberty be accepted by the
City of Beaumont and the City Manager is hereby authorized to make
payment for same upon acceptable completion.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
