WHEREAS, the city uses approximately twenty ( 20) drums of
hydraulic oil per month in various types of hydraulic equipment that
the city owns and operates; and,
WHEREAS, hydraulic oil is purchased on a weekly basis from
various petroleum distributors in this area at a price of $283 for
one 55 gallon drum plus a drum deposit of $10 ; and,
WHEREAS, Texas Surplus Properties of Houston, Texas
contacted us stating that they had one hundred forty ( 140) factory
sealed drums of type hydraulic oil which the city could purchase at a
cost of $76 per drum with no drum deposit and priced F .O.B. Houston;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the offer
submitted by Texas Surplus Properties should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the offer submitted to the City of Beaumont by Texas Surplus
Property for the city to purchase 140 factory sealed drums of
hydraulic oil at a cost of $76 per drum for a total of $10,640 with
no drum deposit be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
