WHEREAS, on September 18 , 1984, the City awarded a
contract to John Bankston Construction & Equipment Rentals, Inc.
for construction of the Longfellow Interceptor Sanitary Sewer
Project; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 has been proposed providing
for open cutting Liberty, North, Harrison and Gladys Streets in
lieu of tunneling at a cost reduction of $88,760 ; and,
WHEREAS, provision in the contract for removal of the
elevated railroad bed crossing on Laurel Street 300 feet west of
Eighteenth Street was inadvertently left out and is being included
at a cost increase of $24,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
Change Order No. 1 to the contract with John Bankston Construction
& Equipment Rentals, Inc. decreasing the contract amount by $64,760
for a total contract amount of $2 ,022,206.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this
