WHEREAS, by Resolution 82-213, the City Manager was
authorized to execute a contract with Drainage District 6 for
construction of the Cartwright-Corley Drainage Relief Project; and,
WHEREAS, on March 29 , 1983, a contract was awarded to
Baytown Construction Company in the amount of $997,840 which was
increased to $1 ,027 ,324. 38 by Change Order No. 1 ; and,
WHEREAS, the project has been completed according to the
plans and specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the Cartwright-Corley Drainage Relief Project is hereby accepted
by the City of Beaumont and that the City Manager be, and he is
hereby , authorized to make final payment to Drainage District No. 6
in the amount of $37,878. 22.
