BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT :
THAT the contract executed between the City of Beaumont and the
Texas Department of Health on January 3 , 1984 be, and the same is
hereby , amended to add $26,947 to fund an additional Sanitarian
position to enable the city to:
1 ) respond to potential public health dangers
from the use of toxic and hazardous
materials , their storage, and their
disposal;
2 ) be involved in the clean-up and handling of
major spills and derailments in the city, and
assisting the Fire Department and the Water
Utilities Department in their efforts;
3 ) be involved with teaching the new food
service managers certification course.
