R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, positive labor-management relations are of vital
importance to the economic growth and welfare of the Golden Triangle
area; and,
WHEREAS, great progress has been made in improving labor-
management relations in the Golden Triangle, particularly through the
work of the Planning for Economic Progress Committee; and,
WHEREAS, in the face of such progress, labor violence
continues to be a problem from time to time; and,
WHEREAS, violence in any form is unlawful and impedes
economic growth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Council of the City of Beaumont condemns violent
protest and urges all persons involved in labor-management relations
to use all their influence to halt such lawlessness; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council calls upon all
area law enforcement agencies to strictly enforce all criminal laws
and court orders which may be violated by acts of labor violence.
