WHEREAS, bids were received for the purchase of sixteen
( 16) police patrol vehicles, one ( 1 ) sedan for the Fire Department,
and four (4 ) sedans for the Detective Division; and,
WHEREAS, one ( 1 ) additional sedan will be needed for the
Services Division of the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, Beaumont Motor Company of Beaumont, Texas
submitted a bid in the amount of $237,500.00 ; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid
submitted by Beaumont Motor Company is the lowest and best bid and
should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Beaumont Motor Company in the amount of $237,500 .00
for the purchase of twenty-two ( 22) vehicles be accepted by the City
of Beaumont and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to pay for
same upon acceptable delivery .
