WHEREAS, bids were received for the purchase of road oil;
and
WHEREAS, Texaco, Inc. of Houston, Texas submitted the
following bid:
MC-30 ( approximately 50,000 gallons) - $0. 70/gal.
RC-2 (approximately 10,000 gallons) - $0.70/gal.
AC-open (approximately 1 ,500 gallons) - $0.617/gal.
and,
WHEREAS, Texas Emulsion, Inc. of Port Neches, Texas
submitted the following bid:
EA-open ( approximately 20,000 gallons) - $0. 72/gal.
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bids
submitted by Texaco, Inc. and Texas Emulsion, Inc. are the lowest and
best bids and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids of Texaco, Inc. and Texas Emulsion, Inc. in the amounts
listed above for the purchase of road oil be accepted by the City of
Bea I umont and the City Manager is hereby authorized to make payment
for same upon acceptable delivery.
