WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has applied for an Urban
Development Action Grant to assist in the financing of the Downtown
Market Place Project; and,
WHEREAS, completion of the project will require the City of
Beaumont to acquire property and construct permanent public improve-
ments, including parking facilities; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of public improvements to be constructed
by the City of Beaumont is estimated to be $2 ,000,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Council of the City of Beaumont agrees to arrange
financing for the construction of permanent public improvements,
property acquisition, and associated fees at least sixty ( 60) days
after commencement of construction of the private portions of the
Downtown Market Place Project.
