R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, bids were received for the necessary materials ,
equipment, superintendence, and labor for the construction of the
Klein Park Restroom/Shelter, Maintenance Shed at Klein Park and the
Babe Za.harias Park Restroom/Concession Buildings as a single
contract; and,
WHEREAS, the bid documents provided for separate base bids
for each structure in order to allocate costs among the separate
structures to comply with the terms of a grant obtained for
construction of the improvements in Klein Park; and,
WHEREAS, the fact that all three structures were to be bid
as a single improvement contract of the City of Beaumont was
explained to the bidders in a pre-bid conference held October 22,
1982 ; and,
WHEREAS, Galaxy Building Corporation submitted a bid in the
amount of $167,185. 00 for said improvements; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid
submitted by Galaxy Building Corporation is the lowest bid submitted
by a responsible bidder;
NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Galaxy Building Corporation for construction of the
improvements at Babe Zaharias Park and Klein Park is hereby accepted
by the City of Beaumont and the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute a contract with Galaxy Building Corporation in the amount of
$167,185. 00 for said improvements.
