R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, on April 8 , 1980, the City of Beaumont employed
Kohler and Kohler, consulting engineers, to prepare a master plan
for improving drainage within the City; and,
WHEREAS, on August 25, 1981, the City Council reviewed
the plan submitted by Kohler and Kohler; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the City, in
cooperation with Jefferson County Drainage District No. 6, should
begin construction of the drainage improvements outlined in the
plan; and,
WHEREAS, the improvements to be constructed by the City
should be financed with the proceeds from the sale of bonds issued
therefor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to prepare a bond program for the financing of
drainage improvements in the approximate total amount of
$16,000,000 to be submitted to the voters of the City of Beaumont
at a special election to be held in the month of March, 1983.
Section 2.
That the City Attorney be, and he is hereby , authorized
and directed to employ Vinson & Elkins as bond counsel in
connection with the authorization, issuance, and sale of City of
Beaumont drainage improvement bonds.
