WHEREAS, bids were received for the purchase of three
parcels of land as follows :
Parcel 1 : 2.32 acres known as Block 8,
McFaddin Heights Addition in the
James Drake and Wm. McFaddin
Surveys
Phelan Investments : $67,500.00
Crenshaw Corporation: 40, 423.68
Parcel 2 : 0.41 acre being the northwest
section of what is known as Block
7, McFaddin Heights Addition in
the James Drake Survey
Sam 0. Smith and
Thad Heartfield $27,500. 00
Phelan Investments 28,500. 00
M. R. Bullington 18,181. 01
Parcel 3 : 0. 52 acre being the northeast
section of what is known as Block
7, McFaddin Heights Addition in
the James Drake Survey
Phelan Investments $31,500. 00
M. R. Bullington 39,826. 01
and,
WHEREAS, Phelan Investments submitted the highest bids
for parcels 1 and 2 in the amounts of $67,500.00 and $28,500. 00,
respectively, and M. R. Bullington submitted the highest bid for
parcel 3 in the amount of $39,826. 01 ; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bids submitted by Phelan Investments and M. R. Bullington are the
highest and best bids and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids of Phelan Investments in the amounts of $67,500. 00
for parcel 1 and $28,500. 00 for parcel 2, and the bid of M. R.
Bullington in the amount of $39, 826.01 for parcel 3 are hereby
accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the City Manager is hereby
authorized to accept payment for same and execute instruments, as
specified, transferring title.
