WHEREAS, bids were received for the purchase of
the following parcels of land;
(a) Parcel 1 - City Tax Tract 19-A, Plat "M" ,
David Brown League
Bidder: Merkel C. Russell
Bid : $700.00
(b) Parcel 2 - 16,958.39 square feet of land out
of the North portion of City Tax
Tax Tract 1, Plat "Q" , David Brown
League
Bidder: Earnest Hadnot, Sr.
Bid : $5,000 .00
(c) Parcel 3 - 19,992.58 square feet of land out
of the South portion of City Tax
Tract 1, Plat "Q" , David Brown
League
Bidder: Earnest Hadnot, Sr.
Bid : $10, 500.00
(d) - Lot 1, Block 6, Eastwood Addition
Bidder: Mr. Archie Perkins, Jr.
Bid : $1, 200.00
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bids submitted for Parcels 1 and 2 by Merkel C. Russell for
$700.00 and Earnest Hadnot, Sr. , for $5,000.00, respectively,
should be rejected and that the bids submitted for Parcel 3 and
Lot 1, Block 6 , Eastwood Addition by Earnest Hadnot, Sr. , and
Archie Perkins, Jr. , for $10,500.00 and $1,200.00, respectively,
should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids of Merkel C. Russell for $700.00 and Earnest Hadnot,
Sr. , for $5,000.00 be rejected;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the bids of Earnest Hadnot,
Sr. and Archie Perkins, Jr. in the amounts of $10,500.00 and
$1,200.00, respectively, be accepted by the City of Beaumont, and
the City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer title to said
properties for said amounts to Earnest Hadnot, Sr. and Archie
Perkins, Jr.
