R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, on November 6 , 1981, Entex, Inc. , filed a
statement of intent to change rates for natural gas service to
residential and small commercial customers within the City of
Beaumont effective December 11, 1981 ; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that such increase will
require a public hearing and a careful review by the City before
becoming effective; and,
WHEREAS, in order to study throughly the proposed change,
the City Council believes that additional time is required beyond the
proposed effective date of the change;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT
THAT pending hearing and decision by the City Council, the effective
date of the proposed change in the rates of Entex, Inc. , within the
City of Beaumont is hereby suspended from December 11, 1981 to April
10, 1982 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council shall hold a
public hearing on the proposed rate change at 1 : 30 p.m. , Tuesday,
January 19 , 1982 in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Beaumont,
Texas.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the costs and expenses incurred
by the City of Beaumont in connection with the review of the proposed
rate increase are assessed against Entex, Inc. , pursuant to Section
24 of the Public Utility Regulatory Act, Tex.Civ .Stat.Ann. Art. 2
1446c ( 1975) . The City Clerk is hereby directed to serve a
certified copy of this resolution upon the local manager of Entex,
Inc.
