WHEREAS, on July 28, 1981, the City of Beaumont entered
into an contract with Garrod and Associates, Inc. , for engineering
services in connection with the proposed construction of Chinn Lane
from Old Voth Road to Lawrence Drive; and,
WHEREAS, the contract recommended that Chinn Lane be
extended from Lawrence Drive an additional 460 feet southeastward
to Homer; and,
WHEREAS, by extending the paving of this project to tie
into the existing concrete street, the street surface on this
entire section of Chinn Lane will be uniform and the flooding at
Homer and Meadowview will be alleviated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
an amendment to the above described contract changing the original
Contract amount from $48,000 to $53, 500 and increasing the maximum
fee by $10,000, from $90,000 to $100,000 .
