WHEREAS, an agreement has been negotiated for the
purchase of a parcel of land needed for the Chinn Road Project
for its appraised value;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the purchase from Josie B . Wortham, James Edward Wortham, and
Lola Louise Wortham Bankston, the same being Parcel 23, a 1 ,866.58
square foot tract in the W . B. Dyches League to the City of
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, is hereby authorized for the
sum of $1 ,866.58;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that further consideration for
the above parcel is a deed to that certain 2,247.14 square foot
parcel of land out of Tract 50, Abstract 17 of the W. B. Dyches
League, lying south of the proposed Chinn Road right of way being
more particularly described in the field note description attached
hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes.

The following description is of a 1866.58 square foot parcel of land
out of Tract 51, Abstract 17 of the W. B. Dyches League, and being more
particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron stake in the east lane of Old Voth Road locating the
northwest corner of a 0.599 acre parcel of land out of Tract 49 of Abstract
17, W. B. Dyches League,. said parcel being recorded in Volume 342, Page 172
of the Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas;
THENCE S 110 30' 00"E along the east line of Old Voth Road a distance of
228.20 feet to a point for corner, said point being the northwest corner
of Tract 51, Abstract 17 of the W. B. Dyches League, with said tract being
recorded in Volume 425, Page 307 of the Deed Records of Jefferson County,
Texas;
THENCE N 850 30' 28"E along the north line of said Tract 51 a distance of
272.73 feet to a point being the PLACE 0- BEGINNING;
THENCE continuing along said north line a distance of '_02.64 feet to a
point for corner;
THENCE N 500 30' 00"E a distance of 40. 32 fee- to a point _`or corner, s=id
Point lying on the west line of U. S. ;wys. 69, 96, and 28
,THENCE S 110 15' 52"E alono said west line a distance of 79.43 feet to a
point for corner;
THENCE N 480 56' 36"W a distance of 75.72- feet to a point for corner;
THENCE S 850 41' 20"W a distance of 46.13 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE S 870 26' 55"W a distance of 46.13 feet to a point being the PLACE
OF BEGINNING.
