WHEREAS, on August 18, 1981, the City of Beaumont entered
into a contract with Excavators and Contractors, Inc. , for Census
Tract 23 Project No . 46-13-305-087 in the amount of $1,881,091.25;
and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No . 1 has been recommended to add 21
Junction Boxes omitted from the original project, substituting sand
fill under concrete pavement in lieu of hydrated lime, reducing the
thickness of flexible base from 6" to 3" to conform to City
standards, reducing the width of concrete pavement on Southerland
between Usan and its dead end from 37' to 271 , and deleting
additional flexible base on Westmoreland and one block of Hebert;
and,
WHEREAS, the total amount saved by approving Change Order
No . 1 is $135,328.00 :
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
Change Order No . 1 to the contract with Excavators & Contractors,
Inc. , thereby decreasing the amount of the contract from
$1,881,091.25 to $1 ,745,763.25.
