R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Beaumont Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alphi Psi of
Jefferson County , Texas, as required by statute, has submitted a
sealed bid to purchase the property hereinafter described that was
acquired by the County of Jefferson and the City of Beaumont at a tax
foreclosure sale held by the Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas, by
virtue of a tax judgment in tax suit No. D-90510 styled the City of
Beaumont & State of Texas vs. Cathy Forster, et al; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with law , Beaumont Alumni Chapter,
Kappa Alphi Psi has paid to the County of Jefferson and City of
Beaumont the sum of TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED NINETY AND N01100
($2,290.00) DOLLARS to purchase the hereinafter described property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized for and on behalf of the
City of Beaumont to execute a Quitclaim Deed from the City of Beaumont
to Beaumont Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alphi Psi quitclaiming all its
right, title and interest in and to that certain tract or parcel of
land lying and situated in the County of Jefferson, State of Texas,
and being more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
Lots 7 & 8 , Block 14, Oakwood Addition to the
City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas,
as per map or plat of said addition on file
and of record in the office of the County
Clerk of Jefferson County, Texas.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is hereby officially
found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution is
passed is open to the public as required by law and that public
notice of time, place and purpose of said meeting was given as
required by Chapter 227, Acts of the 61st Legislature, Regular
Session, 1969.
