R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church desires
to purchase from the City of Beaumont a 6 ,278 square foot remnant
of land out of Lots 11 and 12, Block 1 , First Addition to the
North Addition; and,
WHEREAS, said tract is an uneconomic remnant of right of
way which was acquired by the City for the widening and
reconstruction of Lethia Street in the Census Tract 8 Project;
and,
WHEREAS, said tract adjoins property owned by the
purchaser;
NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT :
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby , authorized to execute
a special warranty deed to the property described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, to Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church for the
appraised value of Sixteen Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($1650.00) .

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
Being a part of Lots 11 and 12, Block 1 , First Addition
to North Addition to the City of Beaumont, Texas, as
recorded in Vol. 3, Page 90 of the Map or Plat Records
of Jefferson County, Texas, and being more particularly
described as follows, to wit; ;

For the purpose of location, Commence at the intersection
point of the West line of Virgil Street with the North line
of Lethia Street, formerly called Roach Street, both streets
having a right-of-way width of 60.00 feet;
Thence S. 89 deg. 37 min. W. 160.00 feet along the North
line of said Lethia Street to 'the Southeast and Beginning
corner of the tract of land herein described, an iron pin
for corner;
Thence S . 89 deg. 37 min.. W. 40.00 feet along the North
line of Lethia Street to the Southwest corner of said Lot
11 , an iron pin for corner;
Thence N. 00 deg. 23 min. W. 1.06.10 feet along the common
line of said Lots 11 and 12, an iron pin for corner;
Thence S . 89 deg. 37 min. W. 20.00 feet, an iron pin for
corner;
Thence N. 00 deg. 23 min. W. 33.90 feet to a point in the
North line of said Lot 12, an iron pin for corner;
Thence N. 89 deg. 37 min. E. 60.00 feet along the' North
line of said Lots 11 and 12 to the Northeast corner bf the
tract of land herein described, an iron pin for corner;
Thence S. 00 deg. 23 min. E. 140.00 feet to a point in the
North line of Lethia Street and the Place of Beginning.
