WHEREAS, on August 13, 1981 , bids were received for
supplying road building/repair materials for the Public Works
Department; and,
WHEREAS, Texas Emulsions, Inc. of Port Neches submitted
a bid for liquid asphalt of $ .66/gal. ; and,
WHEREAS, Keown Supply Co . submitted a bid for limestone
base at $2.85/ton plus freight at $9.62/ton; and
WHEREAS, White' s Mines, Inc. of San Antonio submitted a
bid for aggregate at $10. 25/ton plus freight at $ 11 .08/ton; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bids submitted by Texas Emulsions, Inc. , Keown Supply Co . , and
White's Mines, Inc. are the lowest and best bids and should be
accepted;
NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT :
THAT the bids of Texas Emulsions, Inc. , Keown Supply Co . , and
White's Mines, Inc. in the amounts stated above be accepted by the
City of Beaumont, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to
make payment for same upon acceptable delivery.
