WHEREAS, on August 12, 1981 , bids were received for
street improvement and water line construction in Census Tract 23
under the Community Development Block Grant program; and
WHEREAS, Excavators & Contractors , Inc. , submitted a bid
in the amount of $ 1 ,881 ,091 .25 ; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the bid
submitted by Excavators & Contractors, Inc. , is the lowest and best
bid and should be accepted;
NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid of Excavators & Contractors , Inc. , is hereby accepted
by the City of Beaumont, and the City Manager is hereby authorized
to execute a contract with Excavators & Contractors , Inc. in the
amount of $ 1 ,881 ,091 .25 for street improvements and water line
construction in Census Tract 23 .
