WHEREAS, agreements have been negotiated for the
purchase of two ( 2 ) parcels of land needed for the widening,
straightening, and construction of Southerland Street and Houston
Street in Census Tract 23, a Community Development Block Grant
Project, for their appraised value;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the purchase from Willie Mae Hunt of Parcel No. 2, the same
being Lot 18, Block 1 of the Rosemont Addition to the City of
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, is hereby authorized for the
sum of $7,000.00; and that the purchase from Albert Thomas of
Parcel No. 12, the same being 231. 26 square feet out of City Tax
Tract 48, Plat B-10 of the J. W. Bullock Survey to the City of
Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, is hereby authorized for the
sum of $70.00.
