WHEREAS, bids were received for furnishing a
6 ,400-gallon chemical storage tank and 6, 000 gallons of 29. 4
percent aqua ammonia for the Water Utilities Department; and,
WHEREAS, Marque Corporation submitted a bid of $5, 364
plus $450 freight for a 6 ,400-gallon chemical storage tank, and
Jones Chemical, Inc. submitted a bid of $2, 320. 50 for 6 ,000
gallons of 29.4 percent aqua ammonia; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the
bids submitted by Marque Corporation and Jones Chemical, Inc. are
the lowest and best bids received and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids of Marque Corporation for a 6,400-gallon chemical
storage tank in the amount of $5, 364. 00 plus $450 freight and of
Jones Chemical, Inc. for 6 ,000 gallons of 29.4 percent aqua
ammonia are hereby accepted by the City of Beaumont, and the City
Manager is hereby authorized to make payment for same upon
acceptable delivery.
